Job Description: This position is open ONLY to Shakopee High School CAPS participants.
Job Summary:
Provides support to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Gaming Enterprise (GE) Human Resources Training & Development, Divisional Human Resources and Organization Development departments.
Status:
Intern (non-paid, part-time position)
Primary Duties and Tasks
- Assist with the management of Cornerstone LMS (setting-up classes, sending communication, registering participants, running reports etc.)
- Participate in unemployment hearings and/or employee investigative processes
- Assist with preparation and execution of New Hire Orientation (ie. material prep, pre/post session aspects, session assistance)
- Co-facilitate a workshop with another member of the HRD team
- Develop and/or summarize data from surveys, focus groups, evaluations
- Actively participate in functional area (Training & Development), department (Human Resources Development) and division (Human Resources) meetings
- Contribute to projects that HR supports such as Gaming Enterprise-wide initiatives and collaborations with Gaming Enterprise departments (ie. Food & Beverage, Hotel, Marketing, Finance, IT)
- Provide feedback on current practices and areas of opportunity
- Other duties as assigned and agreed upon
Requirements: Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products
- Able to work independently and with initiative
- Demonstrates critical thinking and sound decision making
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to ask questions and seek out information
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups (3-4 people) and large groups (15-20 people)
- Abides by policies, regulations and laws
- Appreciates working with a diverse workforce
- Maintains confidentiality in aspects such as employee/guest data records and proprietary information
- Passionate about supporting and providing exceptional guest service to team members and guests
