The Accessibility Program Manager (PM) at Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) lead efforts to establish accessibility and Section 508 compliance policies and processes throughout the organization, including policies related to:
Procurement;
Software and web development;
Use of information and communication technology; and
Content development and publication
Success in this position will require in-depth knowledge of policies and mandated actions related to security policies, ADA Section 508, all pertinent special education laws relating to accommodations for assessments. The Program Manager will be responsible for successful service delivery and contract execution. To address these needs across DRC, the PM must be a champion for accessible solutions to deliver solutions meet requirements and that support the needs of all users.
This position will be located in Maple Grove, MN.
Essential Position Qualifications:
Lead DRC’s Accessibility/508 Programs, a complex agency-wide responsibility that touches all parts of the organization.
Understand how Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and related laws, regulations, policies, and standards apply to the assessments, procurement, development,maintenance and;
Have a fair understanding of assistive technologies used by people with disabilities;
Actively promote the benefits of accessibility, and advocate and negotiate to improve accessibility of agency products and solutions;
Lead compliance management activities for services and technology covered under the Section 508 law;
Address compliance requirements in IT development, procurement, content development, maintenance, and processes;
Ensure conformance claims are validated;
Develop and deliver written and oral proposals for accessibility assessment and remediation services.
Documenting identified issues and recommend potential solutions and best practices for remediation of accessibility concerns.
Prepare and conduct training on accessibility-related topics.
Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of accessibility requirements, including 508 standards, law and policy; and
Familiarity with the other components of the Rehabilitation Act (Sections 501, 503, and 504).
