Phillips-Medisize, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer, at our new manufacturing facility in Hudson, WI to track and coordinate the progress of various projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure the project is on track and within budget.
- Manages electrical/control projects including new, replacement, operations improvements, and periodic repair and replacement.
- Provides technical support, direction, and training to support personnel and Maintenance Technicians.
- Investigates systems and equipment problems and provides technical input in problem resolution.
- Develops technical cost estimates, investment forecast, business cases, appropriation requests, and plans for project activity.
- Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineers on new equipment planning, including equipment change, equipment improvements, throughput, sourcing, etc.
- Assist in the development of a project support plan between the plant and outside OEM resources.
- Create and/or support all equipment qualification documentation activity.
- Ensure adherence to established site best practices.
- Coordinate and regulate various meetings, project progress review, etc.
- Devise strategies to overcome roadblocks or delays by utilizing the latest industry related technologies, innovating short cuts, or improvising with available resources to deadline.
- Create, facilitate and uphold hazardous assessment process.
Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 5-7 year of experience in related field
- Technical proficiency in control software applications and electrical CAD systems
- Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong control circuit and cabinet design experience
- Strong project management skills
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- PLC & HMI programming
- Programming motion controls (linear actuators & rotary motors)
- Programming robots (SCARA, Gantry, & 6 axis robots)
- Setup and program vision systems
- Equipment specification creation and review
- Electrical drawing creation and interpretation
- OSHA and UL regulations and compliance
- Customer focused; demonstrate initiative; ability to identify problems and develop solutions
- Self-managing and can administer programs with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Clear and concise verbal communication and written documentation skills; teamwork is essential; organizational skills.
- Understand automated assembly lines, injection molding, tooling, materials, part design, and affiliated processes is preferred.
