Free Spirit Publishing is seeking an entry level, full-time Accounting Clerk who provides support and assistance to the accounting team and business office to ensure accurate and efficient business operations in areas of customer service, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project accounting. This is a great opportunity for an energetic, hard worker, who takes initiative in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial office environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Answer phones and provide excellent customer service
• Process credit holds, credit memos, and credit references
• Process deposits and handle payment application
• Perform weekly check runs
• Assist in collections activities and reconciliation of A/R accounts
• Other miscellaneous office duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

• H.S. Diploma required
• Two years post-secondary education in business or a related field
• Two years work experience in office environment, preferred
• Good numbers acumen
• Accurate Alpha/Numeric data entry
• Proficiency with reconciling and balancing cash accounts
• Accurate 10-key and adding machine experience
• Excellent communication skills-a friendly phone demeanor is a must
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Great Plains or similar accounting software
• Overtime may be required
