A role within Food & Beverage Supply Chain means working with courageous business leaders to forward their success by solving Target's most meaningful enterprise challenges for sustained growth. You will lead a rigorous problem solving approach to help Target achieve financial and operational goals.

As a Director Industrial Engineering, you will work alongside business partners to drive the development and execution of enterprise programs that will establish an environment of continuous improvement and ensure the successful realization of enterprise strategy business, financial, and operational outcomes. You will be responsible for partnering with senior leaders to identify and develop opportunities that can address gaps in competencies and tactics and ultimately achieve the desired performance. In addition, you will deploy systematic methodology for program management to drive performance acceleration across the enterprise and serve as an influential partner to the business to drive top and bottom line impact for the organization.

In this role, you will lead the implementation of Target's enterprise management system with business partners to execute cross-functional programs. This includes conducting gap analysis of program tactics and competencies required to achieve desired outcomes; auditing business strategies, tactics, processes, and analyses judging quality and rigor; and elevating major risks to Food & Beverage Supply Chain team leadership and cross-functional partners. You will also provide thought leadership in partnership with business owners to jointly define program objectives, tactics, and success measures. Likewise, you'll coach leaders through execution phases and directly influence business owners to drive rigor in outcome development, supporting tactics, and processes. You will also be responsible for supporting the business and bringing judgement on addressing critical enablers such as required management decisions, resolution of cross-program interdependencies, and resource gaps. In partnership with SVP, senior leadership, and pyramid leadership, you will develop critical leadership updates, risk and issue management, and resource deployment to achieve desired outcomes

About You:
  • Four-year or advanced degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a retail or operations consulting roles, or a senior role in a business function or management consulting
  • An understanding of industry practices and the competitive retail landscape based on work experience at multiple retailers or consumer goods manufacturers
  • Ability to drive high impact, cross-functional programs with senior leaders and overcome cultural challenges
  • Ability to coach and influence senior leaders and defend your perspective
  • Strong problem solving, synthesizing, and analytical skills
  • Strong written, oral, communication, networking, and presentation skills
  • Ability to take risks, challenge the status quo, and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma
