PRINCIPAL ANALYST - ACO

Position Description

This position is responsible to coordinate, conduct, and document financial analysis projects and financial reporting relating to providers with an emphasis in Accountable Care Organization strategic partnership relationships. Develop and improve financial analysis and methodologies to align provider contract terms with UCare provider and product strategies. Collaborate with providers through face-to-face meetings or telephonically as needed to discuss analytics related to the provider's financial performance and their contract with UCare.

• Analyze impact to market trends for physician and facility contract negotiations. Provide recommendation and feedback to Provider Relations and Contracting for assistance in contract negotiations and strategic planning.

• Identify risks and opportunities for meeting projected contracted strategies. Report results to provider strategic committees as well as the Provider Relations and Contracting team.

• Provide Provider Relations and Contracting with financial data and models for physician and facility contract negotiations.

• Provide recommendations for contract terms in alignment with UCare provider and product strategies for contract negotiations.

• Collaborate with provider partners to discuss analytics of the provider's financial performance.

• Document financial analysis projects and financial reporting.

• Provide ad hoc analyses to support Provider Relations and Contracting contract proposals and initiatives.

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.

• Develop and maintain an understanding of the premium and reimbursement rate methodologies.

• Develop and maintain an understanding of the data structure within UCare provider contracts and relationships of the data in the Health Care Economics analyses environments.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

BS/BA with and emphasis in finance/accounting or related field.

Required Experience

Six years related experience in finance or accounting. Advance skills with SQL and Excel.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of the Managed Care/Health Care industry relating to provider contracts. Prior experience with reporting as it relates to Accountable Care Organizations.
