As an ACD for Brand/Category + Seasonal Store Experience Marketing, you'll provide creative direction for marketing communications and experiences inside Target stores.

You'll lead internal and external creative teams/agencies to create work that radiates the Target brand (voice + culture), seamlessly integrating a multicultural point of view.

You enjoy working with creative strategists and planners to solve business challenges through creativity and innovation. And collaborating with other creative disciplines to produce elevated, effective executions that inspire and guide our guests and build brand equity, strengthen guest loyalty, and ultimately drive sales.

For brand/category work you'll spearhead how specific categories show up in-store through retail storytelling, signage, and experiences. You'll shepherd how product/brand stories are presented by creating engaging, easy-to-shop, and inspiring displays and design systems.

For seasonal work you'll develop seasonal thematics, in-store marketing, and design systems that bring the joy of each season to life at Target stores.

As part of a Target Creative team, you'll collaborate with the Retail Brand Experience team - (Visual Merchandising, Packaging and Store Experience Planning & ops teams), to ensure compelling, connected, storytelling that enhances product display and experience.

Bringing your total creative experience in Graphic Design, Art Direction, Typography and overall Creative Direction to the work, you inspire and mentor the creative team and are responsible for providing clear, actionable and timely creative feedback, sharing best practices across teams and meeting project deadlines.

You're highly accountable and proactively seek creative solutions to overcome obstacles and improve creative processes. You're confident in guiding the work and in presenting to sell concepts to partners across the organization. In this position, you'll ultimately champion the company's purpose, values, and direction while supporting Target Creative's strategies, goals, and objectives

Critical to this role is staying current with retail trends and experiences, developing competent base knowledge of retail categories and guest behaviors, and being a passionate advocate for great design in the store environment.

About You:
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience, creative emphasis/major preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience, previous creative leadership desired.
  • Portfolio/site demonstrating excellence in graphic design, typography and a strong understanding and application of art direction.
  • An aptitude for systems thinking to guide creative work across a total store perspective.
  • Think strategically, critically and creatively.
  • Desire and ability to learn quickly - self-starting, highly motivated, fast working
  • Collaborative influencer with a clear POV and ability to establish rapport with peers
  • Adept at managing multiple, concurrent and complex projects
  • Ability to identify the need for change and lead teams through it
  • Solid understanding of Macintosh computer and graphics industry software programs, including the CS3 suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Flexible to travel (weekends included)
