needed w/Masters deg or Foreign Equiv in Comp Technology or Comp Sci or Comp Engg & 6 mos exp performing following job duties or Bach Deg or Foreign Equiv in Comp Technology or Comp Sci or Comp Engg & 5 yrs of progressive work exp performing following job duties: Install, configure & upgrade PostgreSQL d/bases, D/base Dsgn, Performance Analysis, D/base Mirroring & Production Support for Large VLDB & Complex D/bases on Linux servers. Evaluate changes to improve performance incl index creation, query optimizations, schema changes, d/base configuration settings & storage. Involve in code reviews. Tunning SQL queries, stored Procedures, Functions & Cursors & Triggers to improve performance of the d/base. Install & configure pg_pool & pg_bouncer for connection pooling. Dvlp BASH scripts in UNIX shell to automate regular d/base maintenance - Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving, Connection pooling & data partitioning. Install & configure Object level replication - Slony & Slony log shipping. Install & configure nagios check postgresql.pl plugins for Monitoring PostgreSQL instances effectively. Configure log analyzation tools - pgfouine & pgbadger to validate d/base audits. Ensure d/base backups (logical & physical) are taken regularly & are valid for disaster mgmt (PITR) using pg_barman, pg_backrest & pg_dump. Dvlp scripts for maintenance activities to vacuum & analyze to improve query response time. Review d/base dsgn & integration of systems & make recommendations regarding enhancements & improvements. Support a Mission-Critical Database Environment w/ 24x7 on-call support for availability. Coord w/ technical teams for installation & testing of security patches.
