Job Summary
The Office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is seeking an experienced HR Director to provide professional level human resource management and leadership services to support management and staff of the Attorney General’s Office in accomplishing its mission and work objectives. This position provides expertise in all aspects of human resources, including management of HR processes with a focus on continuing improvement, ensuring compliance with delegated authority, state and federal laws, personnel rules, administrative procedures, Minnesota statutes, and other relevant laws, policies, procedures and guidelines, and consistent application of contract and compensation plan language. The incumbent will maintain collaborative relationships with executive leadership, managers, employees and union representatives.
Minimum Qualifications
This position will be filled at either the Manager 1 (M1) or Manager 2 (M2) level, based upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
To be considered for this position, your resume must reflect the following minimum qualifications:
A minimum of three years (M1) or five years (M2) of professional human resources experience which includes a broad range of functional areas. This experience must include at least three (M1) or five (M2) of the following priority areas:
- HRIS transactions
- Staffing (recruiting, hiring, classification and compensation)
- Labor relations (contract and plan implementation and legal requirements)
- FMLA/leave management
- Training
- Diversity, inclusion and equity
- Employee benefits and insurance administration
- Administering personnel programs such as employee orientation, performance management, and position description systems
A Bachelor’s degree in human resources may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Human resources experience with a State of Minnesota agency or other public sector collective bargaining environment.
