Assistant Operations Supervisor

We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Operations Supervisor at the Big Stone Plant near Milbank, SD.

Requires experience and knowledge of all plant systems within coal-fired power plants. Must have knowledge of various plant permits; collective bargaining agreement; NERC standards relating the generating facilities. Must be proficient with MS Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook software programs.  Must have the ability to investigate and resolve operational problems and explain technical concepts to operators. Requires excellent communication skills and must have the ability to work independently and with others.  Must have the ability to assist in direct supervision of all plant operators.  At least five years of relevant experience is preferred. 

Successful candidate will oversee plant operations and assist operating crews with troubleshooting problems. Conduct plant walk downs, observing personnel and equipment operation. Facilitate safety meetings with operating crews, updating them on new procedures and routine training. Develop and deliver training materials and conduct training. Communicate daily with Operations Supervisor to discuss operational issues and resolve problems as they arise. Plan and schedule operations activities for relief personnel.
