Technical Sales Manager

To support its strategic business plan, rapid business growth, and increasing customer needs, Ebatco is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the Technical Sales Manager position.

The Technical Sales Manager will provide leadership, management and execution for Ebatco’s sales and business development programs and activities, in alignment with the company’s strategic business growth plan. S/he will have a scientific, engineering or technical background, is motivated and experienced in technical selling and marketing, and is committed to meeting or exceeding sale goals. This Technical Sales Manager’s primary job function is to identify and develop new markets and new customers by following company strategies for increasing sales and revenues and through effective interactions with current and potential customers.


  • Bachelor’s or advanced degrees in science, engineering or other technical fields
  • 5-10 years of experience conducting outside sales for contract lab services, testing and analytical instruments, industrial machinery or equipment
  • Technical understanding and general knowledge of analytical instruments and material properties, surfaces and interfaces, nanoscience and nanotechnology  
  • Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
  • Can-do and positive attitude, accountable, passionate, energetic, enduring, and professional
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
  • Strong selling and interpersonal skills
  • Successful track record of developing new markets or penetrating existing markets


  • Leads and executes company’s sales efforts and programs to promote business growth 
  • Meets established sales goals on revenue, profit, expense and pipeline
  • Achieves key sales and marketing activity metrics: sales phone calls, emails, video conferences, customer visits, prospect visits, quotations, demos, etc.
  • Conducts sales through lead generating, prospecting, cold calling, telemarketing, online selling and in-field meeting
  • Generates and delivers technical presentations that explain the benefits of company products or services to customers and prospective customers
  • Collects and assesses customer needs, and works with company supporting team to create and propose product or service solutions to address customer needs
  • Closes sales and secures purchase orders
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with prospects and customers
  • Actively and consistently seeks, attracts and develops new customers
  • Reports customer activities, competitive intelligence, pricing, marketing opportunities and industry information on a regular basis
  • Provides updates and sales forecast to management for company planning and resource management purposes
  • Supports marketing activities by attending trade shows and conferences, and by generating application notes and demo videos
  • Conducts demonstrations of instruments and assists with lab services projects


  • Compensation package is commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • No cap sales commissions, goal-achieving bonuses and other incentive compensations
