TRAFFIC ENGINEER

Isthmus Engineering is seeking a Traffic Engineer to help build this practice area for its St. Paul, Minnesota location. Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing transportation engineering issues, including the design of transportation-related projects, and develop engineering design highway and rail systems. Collaborate with team members to provide and support transportation-related projects and design efforts in accordance with governing design standards; integrate 3D CAD modeling and immersive modeling software to develop exhibits to support decision making; pursue projects and professional development opportunities to further develop Isthmus' traffic modeling capabilities; maintain steady progress toward developing transportation-related engineering abilities; and support the documentation of our CADD and Design Procedures. There are multiple openings for this role. Full Requirements: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Transportation Engineering and Materials; plus one (1) year of experience working on Transportation Engineering projects, including road design, and computer aided design (CAD) services, using 3D Modeling Design Software (AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation). At least three months of experience using programming languages (Python, PHP, HTM, and SQL). As part of any civil engineering degree program, must have taken coursework in traffic analysis, using Traffic Simulation tools (HCS, Synchro, SimTraffic, or VISSIM), and must have completed supervised project(s) or research in the area of civil engineering and transportation engineering, including data collection and analysis of road capacity, roadway planning and geometric roadway design, and transportation simulation.
