Pro Staff is looking for dedicated individuals to work with one of the world's largest manufacturers of structural core materials, including marine, wind energy, transport, and aerospace.

We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift Slitter Maching Operators for immediate openings in our Desoto manufacturing facility.  Please review the information below and if interested submit your resume.

Pay Rate:
$15.50-$17.00/hr

Shift Hours: **overtime during the week, on weekends, and holidays will be required**
3am-3:30pm (4 days/wk +alternate weekends)
3pm-3:30am (4 days/wk + alternate weekends)

Eligibility:
  • At least 12 months Machine Operator experience required. Slitter, or similar REQUIRED.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English – Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent – Preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screen
Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs continuously throughout duration of assigned shift
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout duration of assigned shift
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled manufacturing facility
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use standard and metric tape measure and digital calipers
  • Ability to operate PLC controlled equipment
  • Subject to ITAR requirements
  • Forklift certification required/or ability to obtain forklift certification
Job Summary:
Equipment Operators are responsible to operate and maintain equipment associated with the Finishing process and the conversion of trimmed blocks to finished sheets as defined by shop floor documentation or direction of Production Lead / Manager. They will have an understanding of the operating procedures and the safe and effective operation of designated finishing equipment. They will perform required maintenance and assist maintenance in maintaining, troubleshooting and leading changeover of equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Insures the safe operation and maintenance of the following equipment or any combination of equipment including: slitters, sanders, GPC, GS Equipment, stabilization oven, and operate PLC controlled equipment, through the use of department WI’s and on the Job training, maintain a clean and safe work area utilizing 5S techniques where applicable and performs general PM’s as defined by supervision. Assist in developing \ modifying WI’s and equipment to new finishing requirements. Understand all quality aspects associated with corporate finishes, train other operators, complete logs and travelers accurately and legible where required and identify areas of improvement related to safety, productivity and quality. Stop activities if a safety or quality issue is detected and alert there lead or supervisor immediately. 
  • Responsible to work overtime as required in support of customer demand (daily and weekends) 
  • Maintain safe and orderly work environment throughout shift, assist in maintaining other areas of department when required.
  • Able to read, comprehend and perform to Quality System Documentation
  • Responsible to maintain housekeeping requirements within assigned area/s
  • Understand and abide by company policy
  • Understand and comply with PPE requirements
  • Understand and comply with Health & Safety requirements
Academic / Educational Training Requirements
  • Employee will be subject to ITAR regulations.
  • Operating PLC controlled equipment
  • Forklift certification required/or ability to obtain forklift certification
