JOIN US AS A LEAD AI SCIENTIST - DEALS PERSONALIZATION

Join Target's Artificial Intelligence team where you can help us define and shape what the future of retail looks like! In Target's AI team, the Lead AI Scientist for our Deals Personalization team will contribute as follows:

• Develop algorithms that personalize the shopping experience for Target's guests and reward them with deals on products they love
• Partner with Digital team as they build new guest experiences to make shopping at Target easy and inspiring
• Anticipate future business needs and identify opportunities for complex analysis with AI
• Gather and analyze data to solve and address highly complex business problems and evaluate scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and support decision making

Use your skills, experience and talents to contribute to groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals. As a Lead AI Scientist, you'll take the lead as you:

• Realize solutions to business problems using data analysis, data mining, and machine learning/deep learning techniques and statistics
• Develop and deploy data science and tech-based algorithmic solutions to address business needs
• Produce large scale implementations of various ML models using multiple rich data sources
• Teach and learn from your high achieving teammates as you collaborate to develop effective AI solutions for Target

Requirements:

• M.S in a Mathematical field (e.g., Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research) or equivalent foundational expertise
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying algorithms in a production environment
• Strong engineering mindset and exposure to software engineering principles, agile methodologies, data pipeline engineering, distributed systems and ML at scale
• Proficient in Python, R, or Java and Scala
• Experience querying large databases with SQL, HQL or some variation
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to both teach and learn from AI/ML and business experts
• A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operation Research or Physics
• Experience designing algorithms for a relevance system such as recommendations or search/ranking
• Experience in establishing standards and best practices in the development and production deployment of statistical data models
• Experience using Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks such as Scikit Learn, Tensorflow, Keras or PyTorch
