The Etcher is responsible for preparing, printing and chemically etching dies. Communicate with Customer Service and CAD to get information about the order as well as the CNC Department.
Print/Dark Room – Take incoming work orders, scan them into the system to determine what printing method needs to be use. Grab a corresponding metal plates and arrange them on the printer to maximize the amount of die to print. Using the computer, upload the images into the system and arrange them on the plates, then print the order. A similar process is used in the Dark Room but with UV. When done printing, place the order in the racks in the Etching area. Additionally, this job will be responsible for preparing laminate plates and working in the Inspection Room to mechanically shear dies, check die heights using calipers after chemical etching process and to move orders to the next department with corresponding paperwork.
