Job Description ** Please note this position is only open to Shakopee High School Students in the CAPS program.

 

* This position will be working on site. We have the best safety and health measures in place. We do daily healthscreen and thermal scans each day. We also santize all high touch areas on a regular basis. We practice Social distancing and mask are required.

 

Job Definition:

Provides support to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Gaming Enterprise (GE) Human Resources Learning & Development team. The HR Learning & Development Intern will work closely with the L&D and Team Member Experiences team to support departmental and enterprise-wide intiatives.

 

Status: Intern (non-paid, part-time position)

 

Primary Duties and Tasks Work in Cornerstone, the Learning Management System (reporting, auditing classes, loading resources, updating user groups) Research and develop a 1-hour leadership training session for Enterprise leadership Assist in the execution of Team Member Orientation Assist in content development for beacon, the team member app Provide support for team member appreciation initiatives Actively participate in functional area (Training & Development), department (Human Resources Development) and division (Human Resources) meetings Other duties as assigned and agreed upon Possible projects include:

1) Work in Cornerstone, the Learning Management System (reporting, auditing classes, loading resources, updating user groups)

EXAMPLE:

Update and categorize resources available in Cornerstone  

2) Research and develop a 1-hour training session for Enterprise leadership

EXAMPLE:

Using documented literature (articles or books based on research) to develop learning outcomes, facilitator guide and collateral materials for a 1-hour leadership training session.  

3) Assist in the content development for beacon, the team member app

EXAMPLE:

Using guidelines provided by the Communications & Engagement team, develop content (photos, graphics, written posts) for beacon   Days Monday - Friday Hiring Rate or Hiring Range Unpaid internship Requirements Qualifications and Knowledge Familiar with Microsoft Office products Able to work independently and with initiative Demonstrates critical thinking and sound decision making Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable speaking in front of small groups (3-4 people) and large groups (15-20 people) Abides by policies, regulations and laws
