Description:
About us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Join a world-class Product Design, UX Writing, Research and Accessibility team responsible for connecting the guest to the product and UX team for key context and insights that better inform the design process. Here, we pride ourselves on designing tangible, inspiring and impactful solutions that serve our guests, team members and business. Our promise is to serve all families by delivering digital experiences, both in-store and online, inclusive of Black, Indigenous, people of color, people with disabilities, non-binary, and low-income guests.

As a Senior UX Writer, you'll support our purpose to help all families discover the joy of everyday life by bringing that to life across Target.com and Target apps by writing guest-facing communications for new digital retail experiences and the evolution of existing ones. You'll be well-positioned to make an impact as a member of a friendly and high-performing team operating at the heart of Target's growing digital business.

You'll be responsible for writing guest-facing communications with a focus on our Spanish-speaking guests. This can entail everything from snappy UX/UI copy (like buttons or headlines) to helpful, human-centric long-form copy across webpages and emails, helping guests understand how to do something or what to expect from Target.

You are a writer first, but you think strategically and create impactful ways to solve our Spanish-speaking guests' problems using the tools of language and communication. You care about experience and constantly discover ways to improve everything around you. You're systematic and identify inconsistencies quickly. You enjoy falling in love with a problem and iterating your way to an effective solution with a team. You've used, or want to use, guest insights and data to evaluate the impact of your work. You know how to present your ideas and advocate for them. You value writing that is simple, brief, friendly, and helpful. You understand Target's tone of voice and can easily translate it for our Spanish- speaking guests.

You'll partner and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, researchers, product owners, engineers, business partners, data analysts, and guests. Through this partnership, you'll learn to leverage data and guest insights to inform design decisions. You'll partner with other teams across Target (apps, marketing, pricing & promotions, item, etc.) to ensure cohesiveness in the guest experience. You'll create entirely new experiences, writing for existing experiences, and auditing UX copy for clarity and consistency. You'll advocate for greater empathy and a deeper understanding of our Spanish-speaking guest needs, as well as think strategically about how to show up for this audience.

You'll be the master of your own destiny in an environment that has strong support for work-life balance. We'll support you along the way with robust onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you develop as a strong Senior UX Writer. The exciting part of retail? It's always changing! Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • A passion for language and excellent writing skills
  • Highly fluent in the Mexican dialect of Spanish as well as English
  • 3+ years of multicultural marketing experience and/or a mastery of writing for a Spanish-speaking audience
  • Experience writing content for digital products (web or apps)
  • Working knowledge of UX design best practices
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to present, articulate, and defend strategies behind your work
  • Portfolio of writing samples
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills
  • Able to work well in a large organization with many partners
  • Able to communicate decisions with grace, logic and data
