SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

Position Description
This position is responsible for planning, developing and executing social media content in current and new channels. Provide back up to the PR and corporate communications consultant by monitoring and responding to social media comments and direct messages. Plan, maintain and develop a UCare blog supporting other digital marketing tactics.

• Assist with sourcing original, relevant and appealing content for social media posts, averaging 5 - 6 a day. Interview UCare leaders and frontline workers for "people powered" brand spotlights. Showcase Community Relations, Quality Management, Health Services, Pharmacy, Mental Health and other departments' innovative programs advancing UCare's brand.

• Create new UCare presence in growing platforms such as Instagram and Next Door to reach and expand audiences. Incorporate graphics and video into engaging Instagram stories.

• Leverage opportunities to amplify UCare thought leadership across social media and blog channels - on topics such as social risk factors, health equity, telehealth, Covid-19, preventive medicine and mental health.

• Support PR and corporate communications consultant in monitoring social media several times/day/evening - responding to direct messages, curating comments, and triaging member or prospective member callback requests to customer services/other internal resources.

• Develop, maintain and coordinate editorial planning for a UCare blog. Collaborate with the digital marketing department to integrate blog content with email and other digital campaigns. Align blog content with strategic plan objectives.

• Listen to social media conversations and participate as appropriate. Audit health plan competitors and report findings.

• Assist in coordinating and executing social media campaigns and contests during key marketing and enrollment periods.

• Participate and help facilitate monthly Social Media Planning Team meetings. Grow and maintain internal network of UCare subject matter experts/sources for social media content and responses.

• Ensure compliance with computer security and member privacy policies, legal and regulatory statutes, and UCare social media policy.

• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and practices.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in communications, English, marketing, social media marketing or journalism. Social media certification a plus.

Required Experience
Three years experience working in health care marketing, social media, and/or journalism. Experience working collaborately and on deadline. Project management experience.

Preferred Experience
Experience creating and maintaining a blog or similar publication. Familiarity with content marketing. Visual storytelling experience using imagery and photography
