The Public Health program was created to be aligned with the vision and mission of the institution, emphasizing global perspectives, diversity, and social justice. The program's vision is a world where underserved communities, locally and abroad have achieved health equity. St. Catherine's public health bachelor degree programs were the first undergraduate programs in Minnesota to receive accreditation from The Council on Education for Public Health. The undergraduate program offers four tracks for Public Health students: Health Sciences, Public Policy, Health Promotion, and Education and Community Health Worker.
Responsibilities:
- Teach the equivalent of six undergraduate courses during the 2021-2022 academic year
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings 3 to 4 times per month
- Engage in professional development opportunities such as faculty/staff workshops and departmental trainings
- Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance
- Support departmental advising of undergraduate students and contribute to departmental service
- Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with people of all cultures and abilities, affirming the worth and preserving the dignity of individuals, families, and communities.
- Communicate frequently with the department leaders and/or coordinators for updates or changing course information.
- Consistent with the university's Catholic identity, its commitment to women, diversity, inclusion, social justice, and dedication to a liberal arts-based curriculum, faculty are expected to manifest these themes in their teaching, research, service and accomplishments.
