Kind of Work

The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2021. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $23.96 - $36.03 per hour.

Specialized technical work involved with the development of procedures and computer programs, as well as coordination of PC systems, telecommunications, and network system support.

Distinguishing Features of Work

An employee in this class is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the information infrastructure, including computer programming and hardware. The work also involves the analyzing and revising of existing procedures and programs, preparing documentation or program structure, testing programs for accuracy, maintaining existing programs, and supporting the telecommunications and network systems of Arrowhead Regional Corrections (ARC). The work is performed under the general direction of the Executive Director of ARC.

Work Environment

These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. FREQUENT: Lifting & carrying up to 20 lbs.; feel/finger; sitting; talking/speaking; typing; hearing; vision; working with & around others; customer and public contact.

Selection Process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in computer science or a related field; OR, possession of a vocational certificate in data processing and one year experience in computer programming and systems analysis; OR, a combination of experience and training determined by the Executive Director of ARC.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING ASSESSMENT- (SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE - 100% of the scoring process):
Points will be awarded for job-related experience and education exceeding the minimum qualifications. Only experience occurring during the ten most recent years will be used in determining this assessment. Experience beyond ten years may be included on the application for purposes of meeting minimum qualifications or informing the hiring authority of your complete employment history.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
Appointees to the position must successfully complete a one year probationary period prior to being certified for permanent employment.
