About us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

A role with Target Communications means a chance to continuously improve the quality, relevance, creativity and authenticity of internal and external storytelling. This team strengthens and protects Target's reputation and helps drive traffic, sales and guest loyalty. Bring your skills as a bold and forward-thinking communicator who thrives on building confidence, driving brand love and creating value. Here, you'll shine as a relationship-focused pro who's strategically minded, an expert executor and an articulate brand ambassador. Rise to the challenge of driving results with smart risk-taking, constant innovation and perpetual teaching and learning.

At Target, the supply chain is the engine powering the company's differentiated strategy to put nearly 1,900 stores at the center of how we serve our guests - sending the right product to the right place at the right time. Target's global supply chain and logistics (GSCL) team has been building an innovative, modern operation that moves with speed, precision and efficiency to replenish Target stores and meet guests' needs. That includes investments in robotics and automation, artificial intelligence, state-of-the-art warehouses and last-mile delivery capabilities.

As Target Communications Sr. Business Partner, you will lead executive, enterprise and external communications to highlight how Target's supply chain is innovating, solving problems and continuously improving to help Target's stores deliver a safe, easy and inspiring shopping experience to guests, however they choose to shop.

You will collaborate closely with Target Communications experts, internal colleagues and agency partners to develop plans that demonstrate the role of GSCL in the company's enterprise strategy.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as a communications advisor to the Chief Supply Chain & Logistics Officer and additional GSCL executives, leading speechwriting, preparation and participation in key events, speaking opportunities, media interviews and related communications activities.
  • Develop annual communications goals, strategic plans and narratives alongside GSCL leadership and internal partners that showcase Target's investments in its supply chain, logistics capabilities and team for internal and external communications.
  • Partner with communications colleagues to develop and execute an internal and external editorial agenda that reflects key milestones, announcements and feature stories to highlight the role of GSCL in Target's enterprise strategy.
  • Navigate complex or sensitive issues with cross-functional partners to protect and strengthen Target's reputation.
  • Engage with media to share Target's GSCL journey, investments and progress.
  • Manage PR agency relationships, performance and budget.
  • Serve as an on-record spokesperson for Target with media.
  • Monitor the media landscape daily to better understand how Target and our competitive set are being covered externally.
