A role in Indirect Supply Chain and Reverse Logistics means managing the inbound throughput and placement of the indirect materials that are required to operate Target stores and distribution centers. Indirect includes order execution and movement, warehousing/storage, operations such as facility and 3PL management, inventory management including demand management and forecasting through transportation strategy and execution.

As a Logistics Analyst, you will help deliver project management and project execution of key strategies for Target within the indirect network. This spans warehouse operations and transportation management, timely and accurate delivery of fixtures and in-store marketing (ISM) in support of new stores, remodels, transitions, and special projects. This role will support Target owned and operated warehouses, 3PL run warehouses, Target paid transportation and supplier paid transportation. You will coordinate work across both internal and external stakeholders based on business priority and available resources and other duties related to the success of the total end-to-end indirect value chain. Duties are subject to change as business needs arise.

Core responsibilities:
  • Detailed tracking and reporting for inbound transportation, warehouse operations and store delivery
  • Warehouse support and production planning to track demand, receive, build, and ship for specific projects and monitor performance against plan. Communication of updates, variances and risks during meeting routines. Connection point between warehouse and carrier to ensure outbound schedule is executed
  • Data and trend analysis
  • Identification and escalation of risk to drive resolution
  • Load planning and sequencing of inbound and outbound transportation
  • Exception management at consolidator for problem freight
  • Supplier set up and onboarding with carrier systems, as needed
  • Store/General Contractor communication and planning, as needed


About you:
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience within supply chain, logistics, sourcing/procurement, inventory management, transportation and/or warehouse operations management in a retail environment
  • Knowledge of general supply chain planning concepts preferred
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong initiative
  • Technical aptitude using Excel and Smart Sheet tools
  • Comfort with ambiguity
