QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST - NCQA ACCREDIATION

Position Description
This position is responsible to manage NCQA Accreditation and other regulatory needs for the organization. Serve as part of the QI team to provide direction and management of end-to-end accreditation process. Manage the accreditation project and review documents to ensure that they meet NCQA requirements and prepare them for submission to NCQA. Oversee regulatory work that supports UCare's strategic and annual quality plan. Lead team, coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, meeting project objectives and reporting to regulatory entities and leadership on project status and outcomes.

• Responsible for project management of NCQA activities. Responsible for overseeing and managing project plans, timelines, interventions, development of reports, policies and procedures and materials to effectively meet NCQA requirements.

• Develop key deliverables which may include, but are not limited to, regulatory reports, presentations and status updates. Responsible for identifying and addressing project barriers and reporting progress to appropriate UCare leadership.

• Ensure consistency of accreditation standards interpretation and process implementation of NCQA documents and ensure all business owners understand these requirements.

• Ensure UCare is compliant with regulatory requirements for quality. This includes an understanding of applicable State, Federal, and NCQA requirements and the ability to keep updated with any new requirements and to modify projects, as needed.

• Participate to ensure that UCare is compliant with NCQA requirements. This includes an understanding NCQA standards and documentation to meet the requirements. The ability to keep updated with any new requirements and to modify documents, as needed. Ensure appropriate documents meet NQCA requirements and assist business owners in writing, updating documents and preparing them for accreditation.

• Review and approve documents to ensure they meet NCQA requirements. Upload completed documents to the NCQA IRT tool. Ensure the IRT tool accurately reflects submission of standards and documents

• Provide education on NCQA standards and requirements, as needed.

• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and practices.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care, information systems, social sciences, public health or other related field required.

Required Experience
Three years of experience in quality improvement and in health care delivery system and/or project management experience. Demonstrated process improvement and project management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Problem, decision-making, flexibility, disciplined, team management, business writing, excellent communication skills both written and verbal, able to work under pressure, deadline oriented and customer service skills.

Preferred Experience
Five years related experience. Formal training in NCQA. Knowledge and experience with the NCQA accreditation process. Experience working in managed care organization and facilitating NCQA.
