Director, Target Plus

As a Director, Target Plus, you'll oversee the strategy, structure, and process for driving change and managing communication across Target Plus, Target's Digital marketplace. This director role will facilitate the development and delivery of the Target Plus roadmap to effectively align and manage change with internal teams as well as oversee the strategy, creation, and implementation of educational content for the Target Plus partner base.

Core Functions:
  • Develop and lead a team responsible for defining and driving the comprehensive roadmap for the Target+ marketplace business across the Target Plus, Digital and the Enterprise teams:
  • Lead the development of the Target Plus project roadmap and change management plans
  • Lead development and evaluation of business cases and post implementation benefit analysis to understand change impact
  • Lead, coach and develop cross-functional project management routines in pursuit of key objectives and results
  • Facilitate progress updates on key initiatives and results
  • Drive holistic communication plan, training strategies and knowledge base for our Target Plus vendor partners in concert with defined change roadmap:
  • Manage the editorial calendar and communication strategy and provide council to support initiatives rolling out to partner base.
  • Drive content optimization efforts by gathering vendor partner insights and behaviors to increase the effectiveness of partner/seller communication and content.
  • Author, edit and manage partner facing content by mining stories and stewarding the Target Plus style guidelines. You'll work with Product and Operations teams to oversee our external content catalog and ensure it remains up-to-date.
  • Oversee Subject Matter Experts and scope when advanced assets are needed (ex. images, videos, training) to effectively communicate a concept. You'll lead training creation initiatives with internal partners, and design, facilitate and coach presenters for vendor partner-facing moments.
  • Benchmark competitive landscape to drive evolution of Target Plus vendor partner strategy:
  • Build team routines to stay up-to-date on digital retail and marketplace trends
  • Develop processes for capturing and sharing learnings on vendor experience, competitor communication, and overall support mechanisms

About you:
  • Four-year college degree
  • 5-8 years relevant work experience in communications, training, project management, change management, or content management role(s), ideally in a large-scale corporate environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical processes into simple, user-friendly language
  • Strong project management skills and ability to organize, prioritize and/or multitask several initiatives
  • Adept at learning new technology, skills, and business functions
  • Ability to work independently and lead initiatives with a variety of groups/levels within the organization, including legal and compliance
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in an agile environment similar to a startup
  • Strong leadership, change management, and consulting skills
