St. Catherine University invites applications for a Program Director for our new, Katie Leadership Impact program. This is a regular, full-time position.

This new Program Director will help develop and implement a vision and launch plan for the Katie Leadership Impact ( KLI ) program, positioning St. Catherine University as a nationally recognized, inclusive center for developing women leaders who will have meaningful lives and successful careers, and who will transform the world. This is a comprehensive women's leadership development program that supports our mission to educate women to lead and influence. KLI will be an inclusive program with a strong commitment to women of color, women with socio-economic disadvantages and other women who are underrepresented in leadership roles.

St. Kate's is the largest private women's college in the nation, ranked #1 among Minnesota Private Colleges for social mobility. In our overall enrollment in 2020, 38% of our students self-identified as students of color, 31% are first-generation college students, and 34% receive Pell Grant funding. Our Fall 2021 class self-identify as women of color at nearly 50%. Our students are passionate about social justice and represent our mission to graduate women who transform the world.

The Program Director responsibilities include:

  • Serve as both a strategist and an implementer, partnering with leadership and faculty to fully develop and launch a nationally recognized women's leadership development program focusing on leadership development opportunities for underrepresented women.
  • Efficiently and effectively integrate existing University activities and programs with new ones to create an identifiable and understandable KLI experience, supporting and coaching students to achieve success in KLI courses and activities and connecting academically disadvantaged students to other programs internally that support academic progression and degree achievement.
  • Grow annual student participation in KLI programs and financial supports to meet specified goals, assisting with recruitment and eligibility screening, prioritizing the recruitment and support of underrepresented women.
  • Manage application and award processes for Katie Leadership Impact Scholarships, assisting with student recruitment and eligibility screening.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to promote and inform prospective students about Katie Leadership Impact opportunities, with a strong emphasis on leadership development for students of color, Pell Grant recipients, and other women who are underrepresented in leadership roles.
  • Promote the Katie Leadership Impact through public relations and social media, establishing visibility to highlight the university's commitment to women, inclusive excellence, and social justice.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and management of internship and experiential learning programs.
  • Collaborate with external partners invested in the leadership development of underrepresented women, identifying internship and job opportunities for students and graduates and generate financial support, partnering with Career Development to expand relationships with businesses and organizations.
  • Work with the Dean to manage the execution of a major leadership speaker series with a focus on women of color who can serve as role models for students.
  • Establish key program metrics to track and report on a regular schedule, including measurement of success in attracting and retaining students of color, Pell Grant recipients, and other students who are academically disadvantaged.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years of experience managing a complex program or organization.
  • Experience budgeting and managing expenses.
  • Experience collaborating respectfully and effectively with a variety of internal and external partners.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects requiring a high degree of accuracy, shifting timelines, and with competing priorities.
  • Experience establishing, tracking and reporting on key program metrics.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or other business or leadership-related Master's degree.
  • Experience creating programs designed to support and/or professionally develop women of color. Experience developing programs in higher education or business.
  • Experience supporting and coaching students to achieve career-related success in college-level curricular and co-curricular activities.
  • Strong network of business professionals in the Twin Cities area.
  • Experience launching innovative and successful programs or businesses.
  • Experience effectively fundraising for program expansion.
