The Last Mile Operations & Integration team at Target is responsible for moving E-Commerce shipments from our unique Omnichannel fulfillment network to our Guests' homes. More than 80% of that volume originates in over 1400 of our Stores making Target the largest volume true Omnichannel shipper out there. Servicing the transportation out of that huge distributed network and high volumes means a simultaneous microscopic attention to day to day detail as well as the ability to step back and think strategically in order to drive change within Target and with our carriers to fully leverage our Stores as Hubs strategy and provide maximum Best in Class Guest Experience.

As a Sr. Project Manager, Mixing Center Activation, you will join a team focused on driving excellence in the rapid launch of new Last Mile package sortation centers, or major new capability launches in support of Target's Last Mile strategy. Your responsibilities will vary across a range of critical project implementation needs. You will serve as the subject matter expert in one or more areas, such as partnership with construction teams, monitoring materials arrival, or supporting field team members at multiple sites as they work in support of building activation. You will execute project management routines and coordinate activities across a variety of cross-functional partners, including field-based partners. This role requires an individual who is organized, collaborative, has strong execution skills, and is comfortable navigating in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Lead Project Manager - Mixing Center Activation.

As a Sr. Project Manager, Mixing Center Activation, you will:
  • Work closely with your team to drive large-scale projects and/or independently manage medium-scale projects
  • Develop and maintain project plans and budgets, monitor project health, and hold partners accountable to ensure that initiatives are completed on-time, on budget, and in-service to the overall strategy.
  • Identify and proactively manage key risks, open project issues, and dependencies in a timely manner, escalating as appropriate
  • Coordinate effective project routines and communications using internal project tools, such as project plans, dashboards, risk logs, and decision logs
  • Manage the agendas for and facilitate cross-functional team meetings to drive decisions in a timely manner
  • Lead the management of all project documentation and provide regular and accurate status updates or inputs to program management, with attention to details
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement and change management plans
  • Organize and coordinate new field team member onboarding activities in partnership with HR, Operations, and Talent & Change teams
  • Provide on-site support at field locations for major launch events
  • Execute hand off strategies to operations and field teams at the achievement of project deliverables

About you:
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with and ability to apply a variety of project management approaches and tools required for complex and dynamic projects with short lead times
  • Strong facilitation, execution and communication skills
  • Highly flexible and comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify potential challenges and resolve problems proactively
  • Ability to travel at short notice, up to 40% of the time (varies by project phase)
  • 5 or more years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications & Experiences
  • Experience in last mile logistics or experience with distribution and/or logistics operations, particularly field experience
  • Experience with facility layouts & construction
  • Experience training others
  • Experience working in a start-up environment and/or helping to scale a new process
  • Project management training, such as "PMP" or agile certifications
