The Last Mile Operations & Integration team at Target is responsible for moving E-Commerce shipments from our unique Omnichannel fulfillment network to our Guests' homes. More than 80% of that volume originates in over 1400 of our Stores making Target the largest volume true Omnichannel shipper out there. Servicing the transportation out of that huge distributed network and high volumes means a simultaneous microscopic attention to day to day detail as well as the ability to step back and think strategically in order to drive change within Target and with our carriers to fully leverage our Stores as Hubs strategy and provide maximum Best in Class Guest Experience.

As a Lead Project Manager, Mixing Center Integration, you will work closely with business and technology partners across the Global Supply Chain & Logistics (GSCL) and Stores organizations to advance capabilities for the future Last Mile operating model through strategy development, problem definition and solution analysis, value stream mapping, and crawl/walk/run sequencing. You will support cross-functional program management activities across Last Mile & Integration, such as coordination of major functions across different parts of the organization and identification of potential risks and collision points. Additionally, you will provide key support on the overall delivery on the objectives within each space to support the overall Last Mile strategy efficiently and effectively. This role requires an individual who is analytical, future-minded, has strong cross-functional leadership and collaborative abilities, and is comfortable navigating in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Director - Mixing Center Integration.

As a Lead Project Manager, Mixing Center Integration, you will:
  • Develop strategies and business value cases for enhancements or fundamental changes to Last Mile related process, technology and data.
  • Define business problems and conduct detailed problem analysis to identify root causes and potential solutions.
  • Establish sequenced crawl/walk/run capability roadmaps and success metrics in support of the Last Mile strategy.
  • Structure approach to capability initiative management and conduct milestone planning and sequencing across portfolio of Last Mile work in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Delegate and influence across a diverse set of support and stakeholder groups, ensuring a common understanding of goals and objectives
  • Work with Sr. Leaders (Directors, Sr. Directors) to gain support and prioritization of initiatives.
  • Define business requirements and inputs to Network Planning, Operations Intelligence, Order Management System, Target Transportation Operating Systems, Stores, and other key partner teams.
  • Facilitate alignment with external business partners
  • Analyze the impacts of different paths forward on daily operations in Stores, Last Mile Transportation, Mixing Centers, and Fulfillment Centers.


About You :
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to think in terms of the future state, challenging the status quo, and identifying paths from current to future state
  • Demonstrated structured problem solving experience
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills that can be tailored to different audiences and environments
  • Ability to intake multiple points of view and drive solutions that support the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of key financial and operational metrics
  • Analytical curiosity and competency to drive data-driven decisions
  • Highly flexible and comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple parallel efforts within a complex, highly matrixed organization
  • Comfortable navigating and leading through ambiguous situations, across diverse stakeholders, and influencing without authority


Desired requirements:
  • MBA or degree in supply chain or supply chain-related discipline
  • Experience developing or launching new business capabilities and/or experience in strategy development or consulting
  • Experience aligning technology requirements to business strategy
  • Experience in transportation and/or related supply chain experience, particularly fulfillment or last mile experience
  • Experience using various analytical tools - R, SQL, Excel, etc.
  • Certifications: Lean/Six Sigma, PMP, Agile
