AgCounty Farm Credit Services is a cooperatively-owned institution providing finance solutions to farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses.  We are looking to add a talented individual to join a team of finance professionals serving the syndicated loan market. 

Specifically, the position offered is within the AgCountry CFG group located in Minneapolis, MN.  AgCountry CFG is dedicated to serving large companies in the food, agribusiness, timber & forest products, paper & packaging, and beverage industries, as well as companies that invest in rural infrastructure, energy, utilities, and telecommunications.  Started in 1995, the group has $7.0 billion in lending commitments under management.  AgCountry CFG is active in the syndicated loan market and provides a wide range of financing solutions, including revolving credit facilities, term debt, and project finance with a variety of terms and structures. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

AgCountry CFG has an open position for a Vice President in Marketing.  This highly visible position is responsible for relationship management of clients, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with key banks and financial institutions that lead syndicated loan opportunities.   A solid understanding of credit is required as the position calls for the ability to underwrite complex credits, quantify risk and make recommendations.  Other responsibilities include loan documentation review and managing all aspects of the loan origination process from lead generation to close.  Ideal candidates must be self-motivated and strong team players while demonstrating the ability to make decisions and cultivate strong relationships.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks and loan origination sources to generate new business and increase relationships on existing clients
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, primarily the finance team, by understanding their business, industry and financial structure and performance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other Farm Credit institutions that originate large agribusiness opportunities
  • Provide prompt turnaround on loan opportunities, incorporating sound decisions regarding loan structure, terms, pricing, and documentation
  • Perform extensive financial statement analysis and draw conclusions from that analysis
  • Monitor, upgrade, or mitigate as possible substandard loans
  • Serve as a credit resource for other AgCountry CFG staff

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, business administration, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in agricultural or agribusiness banking, finance, or the equivalent
  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or equivalent graduate degree is preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze large, complex credit structures and determine if the terms and conditions for the client are appropriate
  • Advanced understanding of the credit process
  • Experience in reviewing loan documentation
  • Experience in monitoring a loan portfolio
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, negotiating, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic with superior time management and personal management skills
  • Ability to work well and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • Proficiency with personal computers, internet research, and Microsoft programs (WORD and EXCEL)
  • Understanding of the Farm Credit System operating policies and procedures is desirable and will need to be mastered early on
