Description:
About us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Target's distinctive brand love is infused throughout its many physical locations by the Properties teams. We have a direct and positive impact on the real estate, design, construction and maintenance of our stores, distribution centers and headquarters. Are you ready to help strategically grow Target's brand through leading-edge design, development, construction and preservation? Can you effectively balance the efficiencies of a large-design build company with the unique challenges and innovative solutions required by individual sites? Then take your place on one of our Properties teams, and help us make the most of Target's physical assets, both in the U.S. and overseas.

A role in Construction means leading the execution of the new store, remodel, headquarters and merchant innovation projects. From large program rollouts to unique special projects, new small-format stores and large-format ground-up construction, you'll help manage the scope, schedule and budget for all Target construction projects, including adhering to the project timeline, coordinating and overseeing the onsite construction process and turnover. You'll keep all of the players and partners aligned with effective communication between vendors, general contractors, field leadership and project teams.

As a Project Manager in Construction for Supply Chain, you will lead cross-functional teams as you develop and manage scopes, budgets and schedules, and control the construction for assigned projects or programs to meet the established goals and objectives. By reviewing and analyzing contractor bids, you will make recommendations and approve subcontractor bids, conduct contract negotiations, review and approve changes to the contract and applications for payments, and close out all necessary contracts. You'll conduct periodic meetings to monitor the activities and budgets of other departments that affect the projects. You will be responsible for project completion within approved budget, which includes obtaining, reviewing, and maintaining the budget input from other documents. Ensuring Target quality control standards are being achieved on each project is key to this role.

You will partner with various partners at Headquarters and the Owner Site Representatives (OSRs) in the field to coordinate your projects and work with individual buildings. You will participate in contractor sourcing strategies. You will need the flexibility to work on many projects in various phases or budgetary years. Desire to work in a role that flexes daily depending on priorities and support required of our buildings. Assigned projects will focus on existing buildings and will vary from urgent structural repairs, to CBAR/CAPEX, or planned remodels of buildings.

Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • 4-year degree (Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture preferred)
  • 2-6 years of experience in project management, store planning or purchasing
  • Advanced proficiency in computer, smart phone, tablet and other mobile technologies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365 programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, OneDrive, Sharepoint), Smartsheet, Zoom and Skype for Business
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects with key focus on estimating, budgeting and scheduling management

  • Highly self-motivated and committed to the development of high-quality work and productivity
  • Inclusive collaborator and facilitator
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
