A role with the Procurement is a chance to positively impact several key areas of Target's business. Your input will ensure that Target realizes the expected value from the terms of our agreements that comprise nearly a $10 billion annual spend toward innovative and competitively priced goods and services by:
  • Promoting best practices across the entire company by developing deep knowledge and client relationships in each spend category
  • Providing expert integrated business planning and stakeholder management for all indirect items and services
  • Applying intelligent rate, demand and specification levers to source, negotiate and contract services while sustainably lowering costs
  • Propelling the business with accurate and comprehensive demand forecasting, financial planning and item setup
  • Changing the game for our internal online catalog end users by making the entire buying process faster and simpler
  • Helping us cultivate Target's partnerships with diverse, community-minded suppliers who are committed to economic development and job growth


PRIMARY FUNCTION

As a Procurement Services Professional you will support cross-functional sourcing projects and be a subject matter expert using Target's e-sourcing tools and systems. Starting with coordinating the supplier onboarding process, this position will communicate with both internal partners and external vendors. Strong collaboration with Indirect Sourcing and internal business partners will be necessary to formulate business requirements and incorporate them into a sourcing strategy. As the administrator of e-sourcing events including Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP), competitive events and auctions, you'll support Procurements goals as it relates to savings, diverse supplier inclusion and executing the sourcing process. As a gatekeeper for sourcing events, you will help maintain sourcing integrity, uphold Target's brand and ensure use of our e-sourcing tools for internal partners and external vendors. Strong sourcing and procurement knowledge and acumen is desired to influence competitive sourcing decisions. Ability to review and understand basic financial analysis and procurement systems. This role may also participate and include opportunities to lead other internal special projects for Procurement. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience in public speaking and presenting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule around sourcing events
