About the job:

A role with Business Partnerships & Negotiations (BP&N) means supporting Merchandising in developing the best possible deals for Target through strategic partnerships and vendor negotiations. Here, you'll work with buyers on contract terms and vendor organizations to set strategies that get the maximum value for Target. Use your analytics expertise and strategic thinking to position Target and its vendors for the most productive and successful partnerships. As a Senior (Sr) Business Partner BP&N, you will have operational ownership of aspects of the national brand negotiations capability. You will identify opportunities to drive enhanced negotiations outcomes through process, training, communication and product improvement.

Key Responsibilities include defining, implementing and operationalizing the continuing education strategy and roadmap for the BP&N team and owning the ongoing negotiations training strategy and roadmap for BP&N team and merchandising partners. You will partner with subject matter experts on development of content and coordination of training routines. This role owns managing the complex training calendar, budget and attendance for external negotiations training experience. You will own the definition and ongoing ownership of operational best practices and support for business terms and contract governance and management. This role will have responsibility over defining and measuring success metrics and monitor change progress as well as develop and execute change management and training plans to address behavioral & organizational needs. Key partners to this role include stakeholders across Merchandising, Planning, Accounts Payable, Legal and Finance.

About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of Retail Merchandising experience
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, planning and organizational skills
  • Comfortable navigating and leading through ambiguous situations, diverse set of stakeholders and being able to influence Sr. Leadership and subject matter experts
  • Strong initiative; proactively identifies issues and solves problems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using sharepoint, one note or other project management tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other MS Applications, including strong Microsoft Forms, Smartsheets and Microsoft Excel skills
