Job Description Job Summary:   The Director of Golf is responsible for promoting the game of golf through operational structure and programming that provides a first-class environment for Tribal members, and golf course users. The Director of Golf will lead the total golf operation and services offered including the golf shop, practice facility, golf services areas, golf car operation including the supervision of the head golf professional as well as superintendent of golf course maintenance. The Director of Golf develops and oversees all golf operations budgets including forecasts to ensure all financial goals are met. The benchmark for success is revenue growth, control on expenses, and high-quality standards for service, production, cleanliness and safety.   Budget/Asset Responsibilities:   Formulates and maintains the revenue and expense budget. Maximizes revenue and controls expenses and labor costs against budget.   Job Duties:
  1. Responsible of entire golf operation P &L and will be Public Facing leader of the entire operation
  2. Ensures buildings, golf course, and equipment, are routinely maintained and repaired in a timely fashion as needed.
  3. Develops, plans and implements short and long term goals and objectives for The Meadows at Mystic.
  4. Establishes and administers The Meadows at Mystic policies and procedures.
  5. Develops a 10-year comprehensive capital improvement plan and updates it annually.
  6. Develop aggressive golf revenue sales, marketing and net revenue plans.
  7. Ensures all areas of The Meadows at Mystic are adequately staffed during fluctuating business levels and initiate adjustments as needed.
  8. Responsible for hiring, training and developing staff.
Days TBD - based on business needs Hiring Rate or Hiring Range 1. Based on Qualifications Requirements Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:
  • A combination of post-secondary education in Professional Golf Management, business administration, hospitality management, or related field and golf course management work experience to equal ten years; 3-5 years as golf director at a high-end private club or resort
  • Minimum 4 years' supervisory experience of a staff of 20 or more
  • Member of the PGA in good standing
  • Requires knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices; a working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods; and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
  • Ability to perform and/or manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency to include word processing, electronic mail, and related business software.
  • Microsoft Office, RPOS and HR/Payroll systems
  • Strong leadership, diplomacy, communication and professionalism to handle high end client demands.
