Description:
JOB POSITION: Senior Engineer
LOCATION: 7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
DUTIES: Develop and maintain automated systems, and build and release new and existing components within the software development lifecycle (SDLC), while adhering to current DevOps principals and methodology; build and support world-class cryptography and tokenization solutions in support of Target's security information and data protection strategies; develop RESTful services using Spring Boot framework and worked with cloud hosting platforms, virtual machines and OpenStack; work on performance improvements of applications; create operational dashboards, sequence diagrams, and flow charts; utilize configuration management and automation tools; and support and monitor application performance and software releases especially during peak season; and implement automation and enhanced monitoring to minimize operational functions. Tools and technologies used: OpenJDK, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, IntelliJ, gRPC, Log4j, Oracle, Tomcat, JUnit, Maven, REST, jwt, JDBC, Maven, Gradle, Spring Cloud Edgware.RELEASE, Kafka, Hazelcast, Grafana, Kibana, Artifactory, TAP, Praxis, Object Relational Mapping (ORM), SQL, Consul, Chef-client, Web Services (SOAP and RESTful), Git, Spock, and Groovy.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and at least three (3) years of experience in application systems development (any title) performing software configuration and software releases, creating sequence diagrams and flow charts, and using Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Oracle, SQL, Git, JDBC, Maven, Gradle, Web Services (SOAP and RESTful), and Object Relational Mapping (ORM). In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in application systems development (any title) performing software configuration and software releases, creating sequence diagrams and flow charts, and using Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Oracle, SQL, Git, JDBC, Maven, Gradle, Web Services (SOAP and RESTful), and Object Relational Mapping (ORM).
