Stroke Neurologist

Allina Health System is seeking a full-time Stroke Neurologist at our facilities in St. Paul, MN and Coon Rapids, MN. The Stroke Neurologist offers care for neurological emergencies, critical care neurology, and neurological complications of other systemic disease. This position requires a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited medical school plus five (5) years of experience in Neurology, including experience that may be been gained during physician residency or fellowship programs. Must have at least 36 months of demonstrated experience with each of the following: (1) management of patients with neurological conditions in the hospital and outpatient clinic settings; and (2) management of patients with cerebrovascular conditions including ischemic strokes and hemorrhagic strokes in the hospital and outpatient clinic settings. Must have one year of experience in using telemedicine to provide stroke code neurological examinations, diagnostics, and stroke team leadership through emergent situations. Must also demonstrate experience in stroke academic research and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Requires a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Minnesota. Also requires current or eligibility to obtain medical licensure in Wisconsin and South Dakota. Must be Board certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology. Telemedicine duties include supervising nurse practitioners, medical students, and neurovascular stroke code teams of 3-8 people from 16 different hospitals in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota from work site in St. Paul, Minnesota. Locations: St. Paul, MN and Coon Rapids, MN. This position requires travel to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN and United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
