Job Details

The Facilities Department and the Safety and Compliance Program at St. Catherine University invite applications for a Safety and Compliance Coordinator position. This is a regular, full-time position with a 32 hour/week schedule.

The Safety and Compliance Program is responsible for keeping the university's standards up-to-date and in alignment with regard to federal, state and local regulatory requirements. This includes a number of new protocols developed due to the global pandemic. This position provides administrative and office support for the Facilities team and the Safety and Compliance Program Manager. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator works closely with the Facilities Team and ensures that the department is operating smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:


  • Represent the Safety and Compliance department to the campus community and external stakeholders, treating people with respect and dignity to promote an environment of excellent service and multicultural understanding.
  • Answer busy phones, voice mail, and email accounts, responding to questions and redirecting questions when appropriate.
  • Complete a variety of clerical work including creating documents and spreadsheets, entering data, filing, etc.
  • Intake, process, assign, report and keep record of work orders each week.
  • Coordinate maintenance and service issues with DPS and Facilities where required.
  • Prioritize Safety and Compliance requests with an appropriate sense of urgency and responsibility to the priorities of the department to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Collect, coordinate and process large volumes of information to meet various deadlines
  • Organize daily goals and initiate steps to complete assignments. Refer to other personnel and consult leadership as appropriate.
  • Assist in coordination of safety and compliance renovations between the user and all appropriate service groups and outside groups / agencies, ensuring procedures comply with safety specifications; observes work in progress to gauge a safe environment.
  • Communicate with University staff to notify of the work being done and the schedule of that work.
  • Collaborate with department staff and our diverse campus community to resolve issues in every building and role within the University.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Experience working on a college or university campus
  • Experience using basic math accurately and efficiently
  • Experience using the Google and Microsoft suite of programs including Google Drive, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in safety and compliance
  • Ergonomics certification or training
  • Fit Testing certification or training
  • OSHA log record keeping certificate or training
  • Knowledge of Fire Systems (Notifier Brand)
  • Experience keeping an office organized
