A role in Indirect and Reverse Logistics means managing the inbound throughput and placement of the indirect materials that are required to operate the stores as well as managing the reverse logistics of retail and indirect goods including guest returns.

As Director - Indirect Inventory Management for the Indirect and Reverse Logistics team (IRL), you will be responsible for leading a team to develop and execute the optimal inventory management strategies for all indirect inventory. This inventory portfolio includes planned fixtures, fixture accessories, equipment, construction materials, in-store marketing materials, and stores operating supplies used across all store remodels, new store projects, transitions, seasonal events, special projects, and weekly replenishment orders. You will manage inventory ordering and positioning strategies, inbound and outbound order management processes, manage on-hand inventory, including inventory usage patterns and unproductive inventory removals, and work across the network to support all In Store Delivery (ISD) dates. You will work with Procurement, Marketing, and Store Design partners to translate indirect inventory requirements into operational targets (e.g., warehouse operations, delivery requirements). You'll partner with GSCL teams to understand the network, warehouse, and 3PL capabilities, and translate capabilities into sustainable processes. You will work with Construction and Store Ops to effectively and efficiently deliver the right inventory at the right time to support Target's physical growth plan. You will collaborate with product owners and Target in India teams to design and implement systems and operational processes for managing indirect inventory across Target's network. About you:
  • Proven direct leadership experience with diverse teams
  • Strong strategic, financial, and analytical skills; can easily translate data from an array of sources into insights and recommendations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner with stakeholders; is able to quickly build consensus, influence and negotiate at senior levels
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or programs and comfortability with project management tools
  • Ability to think in terms of the future state, challenging the status quo, and identifying paths from current to future statue
  • Experience developing or launching new business capabilities

    Job Requirements:
  • 4-year college degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of engineered design experience within inventory management, supply chain or manufacturing
  • Leadership experience
