A role with Target Data Science & Analytics Product is a chance to power the 4th most trafficked digital surface in retail through data driven testing and analytical capability. About the Job:

This Director of Product Management is responsible for Target's A/B testing capability and digital data ingestion & distribution platforms. This product portfolio equips Target with decision tools and digital analytics platforms to steer innovation within our digital experience, guide our strategy and unlock extraordinary value for our guests and business.

This role will develop the roadmap and capabilities for testing and analytics tools which power meaningful guest experiences across Target's rapidly growing digital and stores business. They will nurture a vibrant and diverse product management team, leading that team to develop product plans and deliver features which:

  • Power A/B testing capability in digital and store environments
  • Deliver more relevant content to guests
  • Ingest, enrich and distribute web and app data to power Target's digital data science and analytics capabilities.


This role is accountable to collaborate with multiple Digital, Data Science, Tech and enterprise teams to align priorities and remove roadblocks to maximize business value.

Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work.

As a Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product's budget and financials, set the short- and long-term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture rooted in inclusion, connection and drive across Product teams. You will be responsible to elevate your collective team's performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams.

You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties. You will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related profit and loss impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.

It will be important that you possess an understanding of retail, digital analytics or similar area, relevant technologies and design principles in order to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

  • 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of product management experience or equivalent domain experience
  • Proven team leadership skills: fostering an engaging team culture, talent development, facilitating collaboration
  • Experience with technology and ability to navigate across business and engineering
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally
  • Expert at working in the agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Strategic mindset and bias for action with strong ability for strategic planning, defining OKRs and driving business outcomes
  • 3+ years of experience in retail, digital retail, digital analytics preferred
