Major Duties:

  • Utilize engineering methods to automate processes and infrastructure

  • Oversee automation improvements throughout the facility including weld, paint, and assembly operations

  • Develop feedback systems to communicate equipment utilization and diagnostics in real time

  • Review current processes, research new features and technologies, and make recommendations on capital projects showing overall financial analysis and return on investment

  • Make recommendations for key changes in our methods or processes to include presentations to leadership or individual work teams

  • Develop implementation plans and work with respective teams to insure project completion

  • Evaluate results of changes as compared to expected results

  • Assist with development and management of automation engineering documentation and tracking related metrics including safety, quality, productivity, and profitability

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, control systems) or a closely related technical field

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in robotics and control systems support

  • Specific experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Software control systems and Fanuc robotics preferred

  • Experience with data collection and monitoring software preferred

  • Strong electromechanical technical skills and understanding of machine design

  • Ability to apply analytical skills which yield creative results

  • Proven understanding of machine communication protocols (ethernetIP, Devicenet, etc)

  • Effective Interpersonal and Human Relations Skills
