The IT department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Desktop Support Analystposition.

Our IT department supports student, faculty and staff throughout the university to ensure smooth software and hardware operations for all users. The Desktop Support Analyst provides hands-on support for university IT hardware on campus and provides in-person supports for users with technical issues. This position responds quickly to resolve technical issues for users or escalates issues to the appropriate support team.

Responsibilities:


  • Identify and resolve hardware issues on university computers as well as software and application issues.
  • Manage the life cycle and deployment of hardware including imaging computers, setting up and deploying hardware, training users on use, wiping devices as they return to be electronic recycled or re-deployed.
  • Troubleshoot university-owned hardware issues and either replace or repair equipment as needs arise.
  • Troubleshoot personal equipment including wi-fi, printers, and applications.
  • Provide in-person troubleshooting support for application and software for all members of the university.
  • Serve our university community by receiving and logging calls, identifying issues, researching solutions, resolving and following up on incidents utilizing a service-request tracking system.
  • When solutions are outside the scope of the role, identify and escalate issues to appropriate IT service teams.
  • Retain ownership of service tickets, regardless of whether they have been forwarded.
  • Initiate, update and close ticket issues including documentation, tracking, monitoring, and communicating with the customer, all within a rapid response time frame.
  • Provide phone support as needed to assist with calls coming into the Helpdesk line.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Some college coursework
  • Two years of related experience
  • Experience with computer setup including imaging, software installs, and file transfers.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, wifi, and printer isuses to successful resolution.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience imaging computers using WDS
  • Experience resolving issues with Box Drive
  • Experience resolving issues with Google applications including email, calendar, drive, meet, and voice
  • Experience using and troubleshooting BrightSpace D2L
