Master OR Journeyworker Electrician
For this position, we will hire either a Master Electrician or will underfill with a Journeyworker who will be expected to obtain a Master Electrician license once eligible. The Journeyworker will share all duties listed below with the exception of the planning and layout electrical work and will not be a Responsible Licensed Individual for a Minnesota licensed electrical contractor or employer. The Master Electrician performs complex electrical and technical assessments involved in the maintenance, repair, and safe uninterrupted operation of electrical systems in County Facilities and in traffic signals. Leads work crews and/or directs contractors in the repair and/or construction of electrical equipment and systems and reviews their work for quality and code compliance. Coordinates activities between departments and with outside agencies as needed. The person in this position serves as the Master Electrician of record for Scott County, (registered with the State of Minnesota) and performs duties as assigned to this registration as applicable.
Journeyworker: Requires Licensure as a MN Class A Journeyworker Electrician Experience in the construction of and/or maintenance of governmental buildings and facilities is desired.
Master Electrician: Requires Licensure as a MN Class A Master Electrician, five years of experience as a Licensed Journeyman Electrician, and one year experience as a Licensed Master Electrician. One must obtain a valid MN Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air-brake endorsement and manual transmission certification within 6 months of hire. A pre-employment DOT drug test (in accordance with Part 382) is required.
Hiring Range: $32.81 to $44.31 per hour – DOQ.
