A role on the Category Insights team means being a champion for our current and future guests, and inspiring the organization to act in their best interest. Here, you'll lead the consumer research that helps Target Marketing and Merchandising seize our most valuable and important opportunities. You'll distill relevant information into insights and implications that answer the ever-critical question: "So what?" Your influence will help spark original ideas and actionable strategies.

As a Director, Category Insights, you will consult, influence and guide senior leaders to make guest-centric decisions and develop guest-centric, breakthrough strategies to address changing consumer and business needs. You will lead a team of insights consultants in the scoping, design and execution of a variety of insights projects in partnership with internal and external partners. You will help design and facilitate experiential learning sessions that inspire partners to act. You will play a leadership role on the Category Insights team, helping shape the team's future and execute the day-to-day. And, you will teach and coach others across the team.

About you
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 7+ years of market research experience
  • Intimate understanding of what a great insight looks like and how to get there
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex findings to focus on the critical implications and actionable opportunities
  • Experience analyzing syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Numerator)
  • Strong communicator who can bring insights and ideas to life through expertly crafted narratives
  • Skilled facilitator who can design and execute experiences that drive guest empathy and compel action
  • Desire and ability to develop others and create an environment in which colleagues thrive and deliver world-class results
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong collaborator with experience building partnerships and influencing vertically and horizontally
