As the City of Virginia, MN enters the final stages of construction of the 144,000 sq. ft. Miners Event and Convention Center, often referred to as the MECC, we are beginning our search for qualified applicants for the newly created position of EVENT/PROGRAM SERVICES MANAGER.
The new MECC will be a game changing facility in Virginia and the region; not only providing an upgrade in the hockey and ice sport facilities but also a state of the art convention center and meeting space, as well as fitness facilities for the health and wellness of the community. The Event/Program Services Manager is responsible for managing, directing, planning, evaluating, organizing the setup and execution of meetings, events, and programs at the MECC. This managerial position will serve as a key resource to provide a positive guest experience that drives business growth for the MECC facility and Park/Recreation department. Successful candidate will ensure that profit/revenue goals are established and achieved and standards of quality and service are maintained. The position will also assist in developing occupancy and revenue-maximizing strategies for the facility through forecasting, report analysis, labor and cost controls and competitive research.
This is a full time position with hours of work to include many evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by facility schedule. The City offers a competitive salary with excellent benefits and pension.
