Position Summary:

The Fleet Quality & Training Coordinator is a key member of our operations. This position will report directly to the Fleet Operations Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring quality control of all internal and external repairs to make sure established procedures are followed. Responsibilities include assessing the skills, determining and coordinating the training needs for the shop team, facilities management for all locations, and assisting with equipment purchasing.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Take all necessary steps to provide outstanding customer service to our internal team.

  • Work collaboratively with Fleet Operations Manager and HR to assess, train, motivate and maintain the best team of mechanics in the industry.

  • Perform scheduled skills assessments and help to determine training needs for the shop team.

  • Work collaboratively with HR and Fleet Operations Manager to coordinate training programs for the shop team. Examples include Cummins, AutoCar, CNG fuel systems inspection, air conditioning, and other topics as needed.

  • Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems and any new technologies to diagnose and coach team on complex maintenance functions and processes.

  • Perform routine audits on Preventative Maintenance work and ensure quality and effectiveness of standards documented as part of the TPR process. This includes audits on the 2nd shift team.

  • Serve as a key resource to the mechanics on the floor to work through and guide/coach on assignments from Planning and Scheduling.

  • Be available as a resource for the TPR Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team.

  • Assist in conducting external fleet vendor service reviews/pricing analysis/etc. and make recommendations for future paths.

  • Assure compliance with Safety goals.

  • Participates in and actively support our Total Process Reliability (TPR) Program.

  • Ensure the effective functioning of all facilities to provide an efficient and safe working environment for our team and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes. This includes conducting and documenting regular facility inspections.

  • Develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements.

  • All other duties as assigned.
