West CAP, an innovative, forward thinking community action organization serving low-income families, is recruiting a full- time Associate Director.

West CAP plays a unique role in its community. We are a non-profit, independent, and tax-exempt private charitable organization in west central Wisconsin that has been serving a mission in the public interest for over 55 years. West CAP’s mission is “to take action against poverty by developing the social and economic assets of low-income families and their communities and by working to create a more just and sustainable society.”

The Associate Director role will assist the Executive Director in providing organizational leadership, strategic planning, collaboration with other entities, program operations, and policy advocacy related to West CAP’s community action mission. The Associate Director is responsible for providing program support including program development, program staff hiring and supervision, intake processes, budget development and monitoring, on-going program evaluation, data and outcomes tracking, Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) and other program contract management, and program reporting to the       West CAP Board and others.

The position location may be based from our Menomonie and/or Glenwood City offices with occasional remote workplace options as well.

Required qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of supervisory and program management experience. Knowledge of and, preferably, experience in non-profit administration and working with poverty issues and marginalized populations. Public relations, policy advocacy, and data research, and analysis skills desired. Budget management experience preferred.   Fundraising experience a plus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are needed, including both written and oral presentation. Computer skills are requisite, including word processing and spreadsheets. Writing sample required.

 

Ability to obtain the ROMA Implementer Certification and “Community Action Professional Certification” after hire. Must

have a valid driver’s license and deemed insurable driver by our insurance provider prior to hire.
