A role in HQ Engineering and Activation means being at the heart of our perpetual reimagining. This group is the think tank and laboratory for the innovative ideas that spark change throughout the Supply Chain. Consisting of a centralized Integration, Change Management and Communication teams, we thrive in transformation and show off our cross-functional chops by managing complex relationships, partnerships and interactions simultaneously. Here, you will solve very specific, high-priority business challenges and ensure the proper visibility, goal-setting and tracking, timeline management, impact planning and resolution, and communication. Your specific expertise-whether it's people, process or technology-will be felt well beyond the boundaries of the GSCL organization, and positively impact Target team members and guests alike.

As a Lead Communications Manager, you make the Supply Chain strategic priorities come to life. You are a critical leader within the communications team. You will work with multiple, cross-functional business partners, stakeholders, senior leaders and the GSCL communication team to produce team member and leader facing content for both field and HQ clients, an audience of 15k. You serve as a liaison with field and headquarters staff to implement critical strategic and operational initiatives. As a critical part of the communication team, you are working to meet deadlines on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence. You are accountable to contributing to the delivery of high quality, clear and inspiring communication, enabling successful operations across nearly 50 DCs, and enhancing and enabling culture via transparent storytelling. Additionally, you will keeping our team engaged through storytelling, recognition and communicating transformational progress across GSCL.

About you:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant field
  • 4-6 years of experience in communications or related field
  • 2-4 years supply chain or supply chain support area experience
  • Established writer with internal retail or manufacturing communications experiences that is proficient in creating communications plans
  • Proven ability to effectively coach, influence and consult with leaders at all levels regarding effective communication
  • Comfortable self-directing, self-motivating and figuring out the optimal path forward where not defined
  • Strong problem solving and proven ability to work among ambiguous direction and fast paced environments, including sourcing stories and establishing strong business partner relationship.
  • Strong communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills in order to lead discussions and make recommendations to senior level leaders on a recurring basis
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to manage with influence in a highly matrixed environment while adhering to established routines, timelines and deadline
