Join our great company and a collaborative team, in this unique role. The Technical Documentation Specialist has the ability to support all aspects of Engineering documentation including change management, product release, product specifications and SAP data creation and auditing.

Position sits in Bloomington, MN.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze and prepare all information required for ECM's, product releases and Engineering Specifications to assure accuracy and completeness of related documentation. Assure that all related Engineering documentation is complete at each phase of release of an engineering project.

  • Evaluate the possible effects each ECM could have on interchangeability and disposition of parts, reviewing any discrepancies with the responsible engineer. Assign cost center codes as required.

  • Perform required SAP steps including ECM creation, material master MMPP status and PDM maintenance.

  • Create and maintain engineering assembly notes and engine specifications. Maintain intranet web site for department access.

  • Create and maintain PDI, CE, Noise Compliance and other regulatory forms.

  • Initiate and perform systematic "prevention" measures to ensure processes work as designed.

  • Perform piece part audits on a regular basis to verify requirements have been established for newly released parts.

  • Create missing purchasing information records as needed to strengthen a searchable database for the purposes of standardization.

  • Assist documentation supervisor with new projects including Part Classification, Service.

  • Parts, and others as identified.

  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Job Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in technical field (drafting, engineering technician) or equivalent

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering documentation in a manufacturing, materials, or engineering environment.

  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of change control systems, material requirements planning, data processing techniques, and drafting standards.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Functional knowledge of SAP desired.

Other Job-Related Components:

  • Interfaces with various levels of the corporation (e.g.,engineering teams, sourcing, after-market parts team, and external vendors).
