A role in Finance Operations within the Controller's Group calls on your skills for quality financial reporting and accurate financials and technical accounting while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

As Accounts Payable Director, you'll provide strategic direction and leadership to the global accounts payable team, ensuring processes and controls are effective for timely, accurate and efficient accounts payable activities. You will manage all aspects of merchandise and indirect accounts payable operations, including payment processing, payable reconciliation and dispute resolution. By partnering closely with our merchandising, procurement, supply chain and stores organizations you will drive a comprehensive approach to our vendor payment experience. Leverage your strong strategic and analytical skills to anticipate and analyze new accounts payable industry trends and solve problems to continually accomplish industry-leading performance metrics. This role reports to the Vice President, Finance Operations.

About you:

• College degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of supervisory accounting, finance and/or operations experience
• Demonstrated inclusive team leadership skills; ability to develop and motivate team members with diverse experiences and backgrounds
• Communicate clearly to senior leadership, both written and verbal
• Proven ability to think and act strategically, analytically and with operational discipline
• Experience collaborating effectively across functional areas
• Strong process improvement and internal control acumen while evaluating complex data
• Substantial accounts payable leadership experience preferred
