Best Buy Co., Inc. has an opening in Richfield, Minnesota for a Data Scientist to provide sophisticated, large-scale data analysis and build state of the art algorithms that power Best Buy's global eCommerce technologies. Gather and analyze data, identify key prediction and classification problems, and collaborate with teams to define interfaces and resolve dependencies. Formulate machine learning approaches in line with business metrics, designing features from various sources of data, training, and deploying models. Research methodologies and develop new and innovative high-performance algorithms and technologies for precision targeting, testing, and implementation. Propose modeling projects and recommend solutions to deliver measurable business results. Use data analysis and visualization tools, such as Python and Hadoop, among other technologies, in providing advanced analytics and recommendations for the company. Requires: Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics, plus at least two (2) years of experience performing 1) in-depth data analysis on large datasets for a multinational company; predictive analytics; machine learning; advanced research on customer behavior, identifying trends and relationships in data; 2) developing statistical models that incorporate business goals; 3) reporting results of analysis through reports or dashboards; and 4) using Python or R, and Tableau or Power BI. At least 1 year of this experience must also have involved using 2 or more of the following technologies: Hadoop, SQL, Hive, or Amazon Web Services.
