A role in Global Inventory Management means applying your specialized and well-informed point of view to what we buy, from whom, how much and where it needs to go from there. You'll use the right combination of data and expertise to achieve the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll also focus on the efficient transportation of product around the world, while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and achieving the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll not only establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to stores and ultimately guests, but you'll also analyze transportation supplier capabilities and contracts for maximum speed, reliability and cost effectiveness.

As a member of the New Store Inventory Management Operations team, you will directly contribute to this enterprise strategic pillar. In order to successfully open new stores, the IM Ops Small New Store team is driven by our brand: To enable growth and guest reliability for New Stores by managing inventory health using sustainable capabilities.

As a Manager of Inventory Management Operations - New Stores you will partner with Properties, Store Operations, Merchandising, Core IM and across GSCL to support opening of our new stores. You'll be responsible for leading a team of 5 Senior Analysts to develop and execute inventory strategies that deliver a great first impression for guests when our new stores open and maintain optimal inventory levels until those new stores are stable and can be handed off to run state teams. Additionally you will:

  • Champion team by building and developing a high performing, diverse, and engaged team. This role has 5 direct reports that develop & execute inventory strategies for all new stores.


  • Build strategies and coach team members to solve challenging problems in support of stock-up for our new stores and maintaining optimal inventory for ~4-6 weeks after they open.
  • Build out the 2021+ operational roadmap which will be critical to advance this enterprise priority and ensure we have the capabilities in place to support our ambitious growth.
  • Serve as a critical member of the Properties CFT to ensure current-state & future-state financial and performance metrics are delivered across the CFT for each new store open cycle.
  • Partner with store operations and GSCL field teams to proactively share progress for new stores and address issues when they arise.


About you:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in GSCL (Inventory Management experience preferred but not required)
  • Leader with ability to build and develop a high performing, diverse, and engaged team
  • Driver able to manage multiple projects with precision, act with urgency to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively for direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to breakdown complex problems despite incomplete or ambiguous information, identify root cause of the issue, and develop sustainable solutions in collaboration with SMEs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to distill information into actionable, persuasive insights and present to varying levels of leadership


  • Proven ability to think strategically and conceptually, as well as being detail-oriented
  • Skilled at fostering credibility through stakeholder management/engagement model routines
  • Makes well-reasoned and fast-paced decisions with a high degree of autonomy based on careful, objective review and informed analysis of available information
  • Curiosity with a desire to learn and innovate
