Job Description Areas of Responsibility:
Technical aspects of concerts, events, promotions, audio visual services, and electronic communication systems throughout the gaming and non-gaming enterprises.   Job Summary:
Responsible for coordinating schedules and advancing all technical details with artists and entertainers for all entertainment and special events for the Gaming Enterprise. This includes reviewing artist rider and other associated documentation and providing tech packs and other related documents to external production representatives. Communicate with artist technical representation to define and create arrangements for audio, lighting, video, power, back-line, staging, labor, permits, load-in/out, bus/truck parking and other technical aspects of all entertainment based endeavors for the Gaming Enterprise.
Process, source and procure all entertainer technical needs as defined by the advance process. Work with internal departments (audio, lighting, video & others as needed) to relay and present technical advance needs and requests to define a production plan for each show. Procure labor, audio, lighting, video, backline and other technical resources from approved vendor pool.
Serve as the house technical production representative/stage manager on show days -- load-in thru load-out. Connect with tour Production/Tour Manager and make necessary introductions to house and local crew. Distribute stage plots, documents, credentials, coupons and other pertinent documents. Be available to the tour to respond to technical needs and requests.
Processes technical contract specifications, tracks expenses, and prepares purchase requisitions for upcoming events.   Budget/Asset Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates day of event entertainment details and addresses technical needs of entertainers:
  • Analyzes entertainment contract and rider specifications to determine, coordinate, and schedule all planning details (e.g., audio, backline, lighting, video, power, labor etc.) for day of event based on SMSC Gaming Enterprise guidelines.
  • Addresses artists' rider technical requirements.
  • May purchase or rent requested items for entertainer.
  • Prepares and completes all required paperwork/forms (e,g., labor orders, rentals, run of day, resumes, advance sheets, permits etc.) and partners with departments to complete requests based on contract.
  • Manages and maintains show advance database. Add new shows as they are announced, populate entertainer details, add pertinent documents and enter show details as defined from the advance. Run and distribute reports from system.
  • Serve as the house technical production representative/stage manager on show days.
  • Troubleshoots and problem solves issues not standard to Mystic Lake guidelines and/or contract/addendum issues involving entertainment.
  • Assists with technical aspects of large or specialty events.
Occasional tasks:
  • Performs as supervisor of contract labor on show/event days.
  • Assist production staff with show preparations
  • Assist Entertainment Representatives with show related requests
  • Update entertainment related documentation (e,g., tech packs, documents, maps etc.)
Job Requirements:

Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job:

  • Any combination of a post-high school education and/or experience in concert, theatrical production, industrial entertainment, or events equal to four years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
  • Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation and electronic mail software.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
  • Valid driver's license may be required with good driving record.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends to participate in entertainment related events.
Personal Interaction:
  • Management/Executives- Provides information and communicates status of entertainment and events.
  • Other team members- Coordinates internal services in preparation of special events and entertainment.
  • Vendors- Works with vendors on set-up for entertainment and special events.
  • Other external contacts- Assists manager with contacts and entertainment needs in the preparation for events and entertainment.

  • Entertainer complants related to entertainment or special events.
  • Entertainers needing special services not available or not planned prior to arrival.
